Globeville Youth Art
Botanic Gardens --
May 27, 2008 --
The Botanic Gardens are getting some additions to their already impressive display of artwork at the Urban Nature Exhibit, this time from the youth of Denver.
Working with the Globeville Graffiti Art program, the kids that have demonstrated a love of the art and a commitment to the program were given the opportunity to take part in the creation of the installment. Eight kids were invited to participate and come up with a design for the panels.
With the help of Wiser, Kanz and Lemon, the youth came out and spent nearly three hours creating the artwork on a Friday afternoon. All the kids demonstrated a willingness to learn painting techniques and took the challenges presented to them head on. YNIG is proud of the kids and their ability to work together, the sharing of the creativity and their willingness to learn.
All the kids who participated in the project and those who participate in art programs will get a chance to see their art displayed to the public when they take their field trip to the Gardens. Go check it out and leave some feedback so we can share it with the aspiring artists of the Globeville Graffiti Art Program.
